Because every survivor deserves the support they need to heal.

Healing after sexual violence is not a linear path—and no two journeys look the same. At the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, we understand that survivors face unique and complex challenges that extend far beyond the moment of trauma. Whether it's covering rent, paying for therapy, or accessing legal resources, the needs are real, and too often, they’re unmet.

The Survivor Support Fund exists to meet survivors where they are. Through small, direct grants, we provide financial support in the categories of Health, Legal, Educational, Rent/Utilities, Safety, and Other to ensure that survivors have what they need to move forward. This fund is rooted in our belief that survivors deserve more than to just survive, they deserve to rebuild, thrive, and heal with dignity.

Your story and your needs matter. Whether you’re seeking financial help for a therapy session, legal consultation, school tuition, or housing stability, this fund is here for you.

We’re here to support you—no matter where you are on your healing journey.

Who Can Apply?

Any survivor of sexual violence, age 18 or older and residing in the United States, is eligible to apply. All applications are reviewed with care, confidentiality, and a trauma-informed lens.

Safety category:

Through our generous partnership with Cove Security, five security systems are donated each month to the ESF Survivor Support Fund. In addition to the equipment, Cove has also generously provided one year of free professional monitoring. Everyone deserves to feel safe in their own home, especially survivors of sexual violence. That’s why we’re working together to provide free security equipment and monitoring to those who need it most.
